Bio

Kailee has always been fascinated in the processes of pregnancy and childbirth for as long as she can remember! She finds it to be the most incredible, beautiful, and miraculous thing on this Earth. She has also always been someone who enjoys helping people and being a part of a support network to her friends, family, and members of the community.

Another early interest was working with children, and she pursued this career right out of high school. First attending Camosun College, and then the Pacific Rim Early Childhood Institute where she received her Early Childhood Educator Certification. She then worked in various childcare settings for over a decade (including daycares, preschools, after school care programs, the big brothers big sisters mentoring program, and in-home nannying). She has been everything from a teaching assistant to a classroom leader, and ended her childcare career as part of the management team at a trauma-informed Indigenous childcare center.

Through this final job, she met two very special kiddos who inspired her to become a foster parent. She left her job and became a full-time mom to those two children and is currently on the path to adopt them. As well as fostering two other children! She and her partner now have four children under the age of five!

After settling into her new normal at home, she was ready to head back to work!

She first began her journey into birth work in 2023 when she attended the birth of her best friend's first baby. This experience changed her interest in pregnancy and childbirth into a passion. It also helped her to see what was missing in the hospital setting- and that was emotional support and advocacy. Kailee decided to combine her passion for helping people with her fascination of pregnancy and childbirth, and discovered what a Doula was! This felt like the perfect fit for her! She began taking online classes and advertising her services and slowly began taking on clients and learning so much more than she ever expected! Once immersed, Kailee knew she was on the right path and that she was meant to do this work.

A self-proclaimed homebody, Kailee enjoys quiet solo activities such as reading, painting, watching movies, jigsaw puzzles, and creative writing outside of work. She also has a large family who she is very close to and spends a lot of time at her childhood home with her siblings, aunts and uncles, and grandparents.

Kailee is so excited to join the Lagoon Prenatal family and to continue to expand her knowledge and experience by supporting all of you!

kailee’s approach to care

My number one goal is to ensure that you never feel alone on your journey to welcoming a child.

This time is beautiful and full of surprises and excitement. But it can also be a very overwhelming, challenging, and isolating time. I want to be your friend, confidante, and shoulder to lean on. As well as your cheerleader and coach. I want to cry with you, laugh with you, learn with you, and celebrate with you every step of the way. I want to provide you with a space that is inviting, calm, non-judgemental, and open; where you always feel heard and respected, and like you can always be your authentic self, no matter who you are or where you come from. Nobody should have to go through this experience feeling like they are lacking support, and I am here for you. Let's do this together- as a team!
