Holly Anderson, RMT

Holly started her massage therapy career back in 2019, attending the West Coast College of Massage Therapy, but her passion for massage and helping people began much earlier than that. Ever since Holly was four years old, she knew she wanted to be a massage therapist. While other kids were dreaming of being an astronaut, doctor or fire fighter, Holly was charging 25 cents for massages at family functions in her room.

Throughout the program, she discovered her interest in pre and post natal treatments. She finds the work with new and expecting care givers extremely rewarding. Since graduating the program, Holly has loved working with all sorts of different conditions. Chronic pain, states of wellness, trauma, mental health and more.

A very important part of Holly’s practice is making sure all of her clients feel safe, heard and cared for. Holly is passionate about providing a safe and inclusive environment for patients from all different backgrounds, sizes, colours, or genders.

Sydney Crawford, RMT, PT, HDP

Sydney has been a RMT since 2016, Personal Trainer since 2018, and as of recent a Holistic Birth Doula 2022. Over the past 10 years she has gathered many skills to better understand the human body and how to best support it through movement, therapeutic touch, and a grounding force in the birth room.

Sydney’s key areas of focus are: prenatal massage, TMJ dysfunction, migraine and headache relief, common upper extremities nerve compressions such as carpal tunnel, or just a good old deep tissue relaxation massage!

When it comes to personal training, Sydney takes a more casual approach to her fitness. Her sessions are designed to get people moving in a way that makes them happy, feel sustainable, and empowers them to meet their fitness goals. Don’t like going to the Gym? No problem! Sydney is mobile and offers at home training, parks, or even down at the beach.

Marika Hall, BA, HDP, RAC

Growing up in the wilds of Alberta near her grandparents and extended family from the earliest age Marika was exposed to the importance of being raised by a village of humans, animals, trees and plants. In awe and fascination of the magic of life and nature all around she was always trying to see how it all fit together.

This lead her to explore the philosophies, sciences and arts of explaining life. From travelling the physical world to the spiritual, studying plant wisdom, to western pathophysiology, experiencing life being born and life leaving this world Marika has woven together a magical approach to supporting people in healing and remembering who they truly are and how connected they are to all that is.

Lactation Consulting

Karly Gendron

Licensed Practical Nurse, International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (candidate)

Hi! I'm Karly (she/her/hers), a mom, wife, and nurse here on Vancouver Island. From a young age I found joy in helping others. I began lifeguarding at the age of thirteen, expanding within the aquatic field into adult hood. I explored various career paths in health care, which eventually led to my nursing degree.

I finally found my calling after becoming a mom to our rainbow baby. As I experienced my own breastfeeding challenges, I encountered the lack of accessible, professional feeding support and knowledge. I wanted to help change this, at the very least for my local area of Greater Victoria. I successfully completed further education, expanding my nursing scope and skills in specialized care for lactation and feeding. Completing this education, I am now eligible to write the IBCLE exam in hopes to be a International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).

I provide a comprehensive set of services to help boost your confidence and offer support as you navigate your family’s health and wellness. I work with clients closely in order to achieve measurable results. Please browse my services and get in touch if you have any questions.

Holistic Nutrition

Meagan Mckinney

Holistic Nutritionist

Meagan graduated with a diploma in Holistic Nutrition with 360 hours of clinical practice. Her approach to nutrition is to empower her clients to trust their bodies using food as a medium for healing and support. Meagan’s passion and interest in healing through food began as a caregiver for a loved one with cancer at a young age. During this experience, Meagan saw the gaps in our health care system and where nutrition can support our healing process. This awareness expanded in her professional experience  working in health care for the past ten years. Graduating in 2021 from Pacific Rim College, her education provided holistic approaches of diet therapeutics of nutrition, Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine practises, and herbal medicine supplementary courses. Through her clinical practice and personal experience, Meagan has seen how we collectively share patterns and where we need extra support.  Meagan believes feeling nourished has deeper roots and brings this awareness of our patterns and connection through food. Her interest in reproductive health began during her education and has deepened in her professional practice and through personal experience with hormones and hormonal birth control. Meagan believes in providing a safe and inclusive space for those who bleed and supports all choices in reproductive health for what will be the most supportive practice for that person. Working in the past year in collaboration supporting a Baby & Prep course, Meagan presents nutritional focus for labour and delivery with postpartum support. I have had the privilege of supporting families during their most intimate and profound moments. I firmly believe that every person deserves to have a positive and empowering birth experience, and I am here to help make that a reality.

As a doula, I offer emotional, physical, and informational support to expectant parents. I am trained in various comfort techniques, such as breathing exercises, relaxation techniques, RMT massage, Mexican rebozo, and prenatal nutrition to help ease the challenges of labor and enhance the birthing process. I also provide evidence-based information and education to help families make informed decisions about their birth plans and advocate for their needs.

I approach my work with deep empathy, respect, and non-judgment. I understand that each birth is unique and honor the individual choices and preferences of the families I serve. Whether it's a home birth or hospital birth, I am committed to creating a safe and nurturing environment where parents feel supported, empowered, and heard.

In addition to my doula training, I will and continually invest in my professional development through workshops, conferences, and certifications. This allows me to stay updated on the latest research and best practices in the field, ensuring that I provide the highest level of care to my clients.

When I'm not attending births, you can find me going out on fun photoshoots with friends, longboarding, spending time with family, or on my table getting a massage!

I would be honored to be a part of your birth journey and provide the support you need. Please feel free to reach out to discuss how I can assist you during this transformative time. Thank you for considering me as your doula birth worker, and I look forward to connecting with you soon!

Abortion and Miscarriage Support

Holly Anderson

Abortion Support Doula

Support for abortions and miscarriages is quite lacking in our culture today. Holly is very passionate about bridging this gap in healthcare.

Starting off with birth work as an RMT, Holly quickly fell in love with supporting women and other folks through their perinatal journey. Although, she recognizes that not every individual who becomes pregnant, wishes to follow through with it. Hearing about the lack of support in the community was a call to action for Holly.

Holly is currently going to school to become a Full Spectrum Doula.

Marisa is passionate about restoring practices and rituals that help women honour their bodies and nourish their spirits at different seasons of their lives. She has immersed herself in the resurgence of feminine wisdom for over a decade and feels privileged every time she has the opportunity to connect her clients to the natural gifts of their bodies.

She has practiced as a Registered Massage Therapist (no longer practicing), holds a diploma in Holistic Nutrition and has undergone Qigong teacher training, with a focus primarily on women’s practices.  She has been trained in Menstruality Leadership and facilitates workshops and circles for youth and adults where she teaches how to work with our cyclical nature as a means to experience greater wellness, live with more ease and realize our deepest truths.

It was after the birth of Marisa’s first child where her passion for restoring post-birth culture became ignited. Through her own recovery process, she was able to experience how the postpartum body is designed to rejuvenate and thrive when given the proper support. She knew she wanted to help other mothers experience the same and became an Ayurvedic Postpartum Doula.

She provides in-home Ayurvedic postpartum body care, ceremonial baths, nourishing snacks and more in the early weeks after birth to support families and her clients through the incredible transition into motherhood.
